The EBC Brakes Hall of Fame tells a lot of the recent story of EBC pedigree in MX racing and is worth a view but the story goes way back farther than that.

From early days of riding a leather belt driven Clyno Motorcycle up the Wrekin in Shropshire UK with the ad phrase “This vehicle will go anywhere” ridden by the EBC Brakes owners Grandfather the late Claude Freeman (at the time a Clyno test rider) . The next generation ,EBC owners Dad the late Dougie Freeman was constantly beating his younger brother Dennis round a mud track until Dennis one day invented the first Motocross tire by inserting 30 bolts and nuts through the tire tread to get more traction in the dirt and proceeded to bounce off the single coil spring saddle of his Ariel Red Hunter , shredded his backside and ended up in hospital. As Kids we used to play Motorcycles off road from the age of seven in local off road areas, these days such things are almost impossible . That’s why groups like the Blue Ribbon Coalition in the USA , striving to keep land areas open for riding are so important and supported strongly by EBC Brakes

For the last 20 years EBC Brakes has been the sponsor of the worlds longest running Motocross race the British “Wild and Woolly Scramble” held annually in the day after Christmas on a waterlogged farm track in the Northamptonshire countryside. Such is the fun in growing up in the Motorcycle industry.
