EBC Extreme Pro™ Brake Pads Index |
To understand how these brakes are made it is useful to refer to our page on sintered brakes. Extreme Pro is the latest compound from the sintering plant of EBC Brakes and was the result of significant testing and research at Daytona 2008. A full review of the technical and performance merits of EBC Extreme Pro is shown on the below video. The Extreme Pro range are available for all modern Motorcycle Road Race and Motocross/ATV calipers and even for the Big Twin market due to their high brake efficiency and totally silent braking. |

The use of sintered copper brakes in Road racing is more or less a “Given” today and very few people use anything else. The possible drawback of sintered copper in general is bed in time and EBC draws riders attention to Pad break in especially when used on new rotors. Bedding in Instructions |
Many riders now choosing EBC Extreme Pro are reporting far longer race life and better heat cycling which is an all important requirement of a brake pad that takes a few laps to bed in. Typical durability is 3-4 weekends racing which racers on a budget will appreciate especially as pads stay predictable over their wear life as Extreme Pro does. Pads should be discarded when half worn due to increased fluid volume that will be in the piston chambers as the pad advances towards the rotor. Not doing so will lead to spongy brake feel and can result in the brake lever coming back to the bar. If you are a road racer and have not yet signed up for our Hall of Fame, please consider doing that now. |
