Seven times OMRRA champion Alan Schmidt is based in British Columbia Canada where as a child started BMX racing before moving onto motocrosss, snowboard boardercross and very recently motorcycle ice racing.
Without a doubt the sport that Alan excels at the most is motorcycle roadracing, a sport that he started at Portland International Raceway in 1993. Over the following years Alans racing skills grew steadily and his race finishes were getting better until he reached the stage where he was gaining podium finishes on a regular basis. At this stage Alan was entering himself into his first AMA Nationals and was also winning most of the club races finishing the 1999 season as the OMRRA's number 2 overall Champion.
Since then Alan's Roadracing career has gone from strength to strength when at one point Alan set a new lap record at Portland International Raceway of 1:09.67. Along with joining the AMA races came lots of new learning curves including racing bigger bikes in new classes on new tracks. During his 2001 season Alan had 17 wins, one 3rd, four 2nds, and one 4th in 23 races. The following seasons were frought with problems including crashes, mechanical issues such as bikes blowing up, an intenstinal problem that almost required surgery, distracting forest fires, but even through it all Alan still managed to make 11 of the races and 9 wins.
In 2005 Alan's racing career really picked up when he secured another number 1 plate in the OMMRA Championship. He continued with the same high achievment gaining the number 1 overall Championship places right up to this day, making a grand total of 7 Championships to date.
Alan Schmidt is a big supporter of EBC Brakes products of which he uses in all of his races!
