Elkhart Lake, WI -GEICO Powersports RMR Buell Rider Michael Barnes and Bruce Rossmeyers RMR Buell rider Danny Eslick put on quite a show for the Daytona 200 held this past Friday night March 6th at the Daytona International Speedway.

With Eslick qualifying 2nd just one tenth of a second off of pole position and Barnes in the top 15 for the race start, both bikes took to the grid. Within the first few laps Eslick had secured a lead and was involved in battles to maintain it. Unfortunately for Eslick his fairing on the right side of his Buell 1125R came loose and caused him to pit. With the crew working hard to try and remedy the loose fairing, Danny knew he was loosing valuable time being in the pits, a quick tape job and Danny set off to try and reclaim his lead and gain position. Sadly he had lost a few laps while in the pits and it would prove to be quite a struggle to gain what he had lost. The Bruce Rossmeyers RMR Buell crew hadn't expected this problem and was well on looking for a podium or a race win.

While fellow teammate Michael Barnes on the GEICO Powersports RMR Buell was still out on the track a misread on fuel caused him to pit a lap earlier than planned. The crew acted quick refueling his bike and sending him back out within seconds.

Sometime later a Red flag caused many confusions. As the Safety car took to the track many riders including Eslick took this as an opportunity to make up a few positions that he had lost during the unscheduled pit stop. Barnes though stayed behind fellow rider and waited to the safety car pulled off the track to start racing again.

The Daytona 200 is the most unpredictable race. We are happy to know that the Buell 1125R is going to be a contender this year in the Sportbike Class . We are looking forward to Auto Club Speedway in two weeks!
