| May 2009 - EBC is back at the Pep Boys! |
Following the return of EBC at the Pep Boys, the April 2010 newsletter gave us a fantastic write up. Here's what it says... "We are excited to announce that we have renewed our relationship with EBC Performance Brakes and are adding their performance brake pads back into our system. Initially, 76 SKUs will be added to all hub stories; an additional 55 SKU's will be in the Speed Shops and over 300 SKU's will be available through warehouse special order from the Indy DC. The whole line is available to all stores through special order. Look for brochures and counter cards to reintroduce you to the program. |
| December 2009 - EBC brakes Breaks ground on it's new engineering facility in northampton. |
| January 2010 the new engineering block for the in house manufacture of pressed steel components for the ebc group will take place. The new state of the art facility is located right on junction 15 of the M1 motorway in Northampton uk and will be operational by may 2010. (click here to see the plans for the site). Construction of the new unit starts first days of January 2010 and when complete the facility will produce 8 million pressed steel backing plates for motorcycle and automotive backing plates per year in its debut year. |
| October 2009 - EBC Doubles floor space at its USA distribution Centre |
| Having recently settled into the new California warehouse number 1, EBC Brakes has doubled its floor space with the second adjoining unit bringing the business footprint to 200,000 sq feet. The expansion houses a bank of new CBNC machining centres for sport rotor production and the ability to hold over 150,000 pieces of automotive rotor blanks for US market supply. |
| October 2009 - Pep Boys renews contracts with EBC Brakes |
| The USA number one retail and service automotive Chain Pep Boys has re signed a contract to stock sell distribute and special order the entire range of EBC Sport brakes. The new relationship is expected to add a 7 figure turnover sum onto Pep Boys sales by adding revenue in new markets with the high end EBC Brakes product. |

| September 2009 - Four New world land speed Records set with EBC Brakes at Bonneville Salt Flats. |
| British Motorcycle Rider Alan Cathcart has set four new world records on his Triumph Motorcycle equipped with the lightweight EBC XC brake rotors and pads. Small as it was this contribution to weight reduction added to the success of the machine. On this never to be forgotten date of Sept 11th 2009, the news came in of these four world records achieved on a British made street legal Thruxton Bonneville exceeding 150 miles per hour at the famous salt flats. Built by Matt Capri of the well respected US Motorcycle Dealership South Bay Triumph of Lomita California the machine was equipped with special racing tires provided by Pirelli and the super lightweight EBC Brakes. | September 2009 - EBC Claims Two US Road Race Titles |
US Favourite brake brand claimed two national titles in 2009 with a creditable fourth place in the final points for Larry Pegram in AMA Superbike. The title winners were RMR / Geico / Buell Racing's Danny Eslick, winning the Daytona SportBike Class, and also Crozier Motorsports winning the MotoGT Championship. EBC brakes claims great reaction has been received to the new Extreme Pro Disc pad range which all of the EBC racer teams ran this season and has created a Hall Of Fame on its website to start a listing of all Road Race Teams over the coming Years. EBC Boss Andy Freeman said" We are here for the long term in US Roadracing and are proud of the teams that work with us. Their help keeps us in the number one spot and once again in 2009 more US Dealers said they chose EBC products than all other brands combined, including OEM Parts so we have to be doing something right" EBC Brakes recently moved to a large new facility on the junction of Northbound I5 and I 405 in LA and announced their presence with some major signage and a US and UK flag flying together proudly over their building. | EBC Automotive Brakes raced into a launch of their product range in Thailand during May 09 with the new importer agency owned by Gavin Charlesworth. | After many years of direct sales to the USA from its UK base, EBC Brakes has formalised its presence in the US market by establishing for the first time its own warehouse facility and new Corporation EBC Brakes USA Inc, located in California. The new 90,000 square foot semi automated facility will inventory pick,pack and despatch all automotive and motorcycle orders formerly handled by direct sales from the UK Company and the use of subcontractors. The new warehouse started operations in May 2009. | May 2009 - Chappell named official spokesperson of EBC Brakes |
| Genevieve Chappell and EBC Brakes are proud to announce that Chappell shall serve as the official spokesperson and endorse EBC Brakes for the rest of the year.
Chappell is a noted television host and pit reporter, with numerous show credits on ESPN, ESPN2 and Speed Channel. Her roles in those shows have earned her industry acclaim, including features in Hot Rod and Hot Rod Deluxe as well as serving as the Grand Marshall of the 2008 Great Pottsville Cruise. Recently, she also anchored the webisodes for Velocity Magazine. As part of the arrangement, Chappell will appear at numerous events promoting the EBC line of braking products, which include products for race and rally cars, trucks, buses, commercial vehicles and mountain bikes. | March 2009 - EBC Launches New Vehicle Look Up |
| In today's complicated spare parts business catalogue lookup is EVERYTHING. EBC Brakes is now concluding years of work on a new catalogue database system that will eclipse all other brake suppliers. The new system which will go live by July 1st will be an online accessed part number lookup, updated DAILY which will allow product search by: REGISTRATION NUMBER VIN NUMBER MAKE MODEL AND YEAR VEHICLE TYPE (i.e. Clio, Megane, Focus, Impreza etc) EBC PART NUMBER Using data from: MVRIS (UK registration numbers) KBA (German and European registration details) REDBOOK (Australian registration details) AAIA (USA and Canadian vehicle details) It will also show a new suggested BEST OPTION for each vehicle including BRAKE KITS assembling pad and rotor combinations for each vehicle. The system will be accessed by a user login and password. The database access will be FREE to customers spending over £3000 per month with EBC Brakes and will be charged at a one off annual fee of £100 for people spending between £1000 and £2000 per month and £200 for people spending less than £1000. Payments will be charged and have to be paid before issuance of a user name. When the system is ready for launch we will advise how to get a sign on. |
