"I have a 2006 Volvo V50 AWD T5 turbo, i installed the Redstuff and 3GD Solid Sport Rotor - Gold Finish about 2 years ago and have had no problem with Smoother braking by far so thanks for that, but now I get a squealing from 1 front and 1 rear when I slightly depress the brakes, it is very loud and annoying so I am wondering can you guide me in the right direction to diagnose this noise and why... Thank You!" |

My '05 Freestyle's OEM brakes were horrible. Warped after 20,000 miles, they were turned and were bad again 10,000 miles later. I ordered a complete set of new Sport discs and Green Stuf pads. This cars stops rock solid now. I have put over 50,000 miles on them and no change in performance. Every time it goes in for service, the people at my Ford dealer call everyone over to see a family wagon with performance brakes. These are so good, I am about to upgrade my Mini Cooper S as well. |

Installed the rotors and pads yesterday. First few stops had some grinding and a woop woop sound. Figured it was the pads finding there place.
Now after about 25 miles of stop and go traffic slight grinding sound on light braking. Each stop I make is better than the last. It's nice to feel REAL BRAKES on my car.
EBC Tech Comment:
The slight grinding noise experienced is the EBC brake-in™ coating which wears away in about 100 miles after the pads have bedded in.
The wooshing sound of the GD rotors is no problem!
EBC Tech Comment:
EBC of course do offer much quieter USR series fine slotted rotors for less wind noise too!
EBC needs to advertise more. Open EBC brake shops across the States.
I'm an EBC user forever.

After considerable research on Web - Google Searches etc it became clear that EBC had the Best Rotors & Pads for my Application ( Work Truck Equipped with Gooseneck & Bumper Pull Hitches ) -- Needed an UPGRADE from OEM for Braking -- If my humble viewpoint the PRICE of the EBC Rotors & Pads FAR exceed the possibility of NOT being able to Stop and having an accident -- Think now of the Money a person would spend if at Fault ( Lawyers, Court Appearance, Insurance Premium increases etc ) -- And in worst case could have prevented Life or Death ( High Quality Brakes & Tires are Critical )-- Hope this Review helps? |
