Brad Mercer is running EBC components on his Fireblade in the Super Series 1000 championship
Bolton-based motorcycle racer, Brad Mercer, is currently competing in the No Limits Racing (NLR) Pirelli Super Series 1000 championship.
Mercer proudly secured NLR’s 1000 Championship and Cup 1000 Championship back in 2022, hoping to secure more wins throughout the 2025 season.
He relies on EBC Brakes Racing’s GPFAX sintered race brake pads and X-Series floating brake discs on his Honda CBR-1000 fireblade race bike.
The fourth round of the year took the roadshow to Derbyshire’s Donington Park, where Mercer managed to secure his first podium of the year.

Qualifying
“After a good test, doing pretty much every lap of every session, I was feeling good going into qualifying. Got out front and got some clear laps in, but just didn’t manage to put a fast lap together. I made a mistake and went wide at Coppice on my best lap, which was a bit frustrating. But not too bad in P7 and on the left-hand side of the grid going into turn 1.”

Race 1
“BSB champ, Kyle Ryde, was making another guest appearance and unsurprisingly started P1 right in front of me off the start. As the lights went out, he seemed to stall or get bogged down and I almost collided with him. It was a close one but managed to avoid him by rolling out of the throttle which ruined my start and put me in about P10.
“Luckily, two laps later, it was red-flagged and restarted for a five-lap dash. This time, I got a great start and ran in about 5th for a couple of laps. It was a scrappy race; I got passed and made a couple of nice passes myself. What seemed like five minutes later, the checkered flag was out and I realised I’d got my first podium of the year which I was over the moon about! The lap time wasn’t amazing, but it was just one of the those races where lap times didn’t tell the whole story.”
