We show you the EBC Brakes components that perfectly match your lifestyle

Welcome to our new ‘Suit Your Style’ blog series, where we match you up with EBC Brakes upgrades that complement particular driving requirements, ensuring you get the ideal components for your vehicle.

First up, we tackle undoubtedly the most common style of motoring out there: daily drivers. Whether it’s the work commute, popping to the shops or the long-distance family jaunt to the other side of the country, we all rely on decent, reliable brakes that can perform in a variety of situations on our daily-driven vehicles.

EBC Brakes’ range of brake discs and rotors that match this style of driving is thankfully huge. There are a number of varying friction materials and rotor styles to choose from, offering subtly different characteristics when it comes to noise, performance, dust and cooling.

Below are some EBC Brakes components that are suitable for daily-driven vehicles.

Brake Pads

Ultimax2

The perfect quality daily driver pad option for all modern cars: petrol, diesel, hybrid or electric.

These premium quality, British-made pads are designed to meet or exceed the performance of any OEM pad and are fully R90 approved. The EBC Brakes Ultimax range are long lasting, high friction pads designed for normal urban driving at all speeds, even on prestige cars, 4x4s and light trucks.

Ultimax pads feature centre slots, edge chamfers and Brake‑In surface coating to condition discs after installation and help to quickly deliver stopping power on new pads. Hardware and wear leads included where fitted as standard. Tests at the MIRA research facility prove that these pads typically stop faster then OE.

Greenstuff

In tests, Greenstuff has been proven to stop a vehicle 20ft shorter than using stock pads. Greenstuff pads are fully shimmed, chamfered and slotted for silent braking and also feature the EBC Brake‐In surface coating to accelerate pad bed‐in after installation.

These pads are made from a specially designed softer compound which gives a longer lifetime as well as improved pedal feel at lower speeds.

Redstuff

Ceramic particles (not fibres) enhance the aramid fibre formulation used in EBC Brakes Redstuff to deliver powerful and long-lasting silent braking for the discerning driver.

They also offer excellent low dust characteristics – showing an improvement of around 20-25% compared to OE – ideal for those who prefer to clean their wheels less frequently.

Expect great all-round performance, low dust and minimal rotor damage characteristics from this fantastic all-rounder.

Brake Rotors

Standard D Discs

Undoubtedly one of the best-selling and most popular aftermarket brake rotors on sale worldwide, EBC Brakes’ D Discs offer OEM quality made to the exact same spec as original parts, using G3000 grey iron.

Precision machined, balanced and 100% one-by-one runout inspected to guarantee zero rotor distortion out of the box.

The quality and price point of the EBC Brakes discs combined with the 10,000 mile/12 month warranty make these a best-buy brake part, equal to or better than original parts.

GD Discs

The latest in sport rotors, GD Discs feature wide aperture slots that draw cool air into the braking contact area and reduce temperatures, preventing brake fade.

Now featuring reduced three-slot venting which provides slightly less air noise under heavy braking whilst still maintaining the benefits of cooler running with the full-width slot design.

The design of these discs means that some wind noise is observed and if drivers feel they would find this offensive they are advised to select the quieter USR-series or the EBC plain (D) disc.

Another great feature of slotted discs is the way they maintain flat and parallel pad wear and avoid the record grooves or galling common with non-slotted discs. This improves pad contact and braking throughout the life of the disc and pad set.

USR Discs

Super-quiet sport-slotted brake discs, featuring the new EBC Brakes narrow-profile slot pattern which helps cool and de-gas brakes under load and speed, but eliminates air noise common with some slotted discs.

Another great feature of slotted discs is the way they maintain flat and parallel pad wear and avoid the record grooves or galling common with non-slotted discs. This improves pad contact and braking throughout the life of the disc and pad set.

Another major benefit of the EBC Brakes fine slotted discs is their ability to totally resist cracking common with ‘through-drilled’ discs.

BSD Discs

The new EBC Brakes BSD-series brake discs vent the brake area better, drawing heat away from the central brake pad area and with more slot under the pad contact area.

These discs are totally silent in operation and de-gas your brakes when used at speed or under heavier loads minimising heat fade.

Now with lower pricing and the silver grey anti corrosion coating with show-thru silver slots, these discs are surely the best through-wheel looks and most functional sport discs on sale.

The fine slot pattern prevents the ribs that typically generate after 5,000-10,000 miles of use on non-slotted discs and maintain flat and parallel pad wear and due to the fine slot design can even extend pad wear life.
